Session Types

Beginners
For non swimmers or those in armbands. Focus is on water confidence, safety and progression out of armbands to swim 5 meters on front and back unaided gaining up to our Stage 2. All children need to bring 1 float and a woggle of their own.

Early Swimmers
For children who can swim without aids. Introduction to 4 strokes aiming to swim up to 25 metres unaided. Introduction of submerging and push and glides. Taught in deeper water or at the deep end. Children need to bring 1 float and a woggle of their own.

Improvers
To help children perfect the 4 strokes and to swim the main 3 strokes up to 50m unaided. Basic diving skills and water safety will be taught. Introduction to rotational skills and correct breathing techniques. Children need to bring 1 float of their own (see rules on the information page) .

Advanced/Personal Survival Skills
Starts, turns and finishes will be taught. Streamlining of strokes over 100m and distance swimming explored up to 400m. Diving is further enhanced and learners will work towards Personal survival skills. Children need to bring 1 float of their own (see rules on the information page).

Rookie Lifeguard Course
Learn survival, rescue and sports skills, for older children up to 16 years. The further progression made with swimming grades, the higher the award as a Rookie. Once 16 you will have most of necessary skills to gain a Full Lifeguard qualification.

Swim Fit
Aimed at swimmers who have completed all of the above and would like to perform distance swimming. Competitive swim standard taught in a fun environment, teaching starts, turns and finishes in all 4 strokes with an aim of streamlining in all 4 disciplines. Diving and swimming challenges will enhance these lessons.
